Play your PS5 or PS4 remotely over the Internet using Chiaki on the Steam Deck.

If you wants to play PlayStation 4 or 5 games on the go, you may be interested in using Chiaki, an open-source remote play client. With Chiaki, you can connect to your PS4 or PS5 console over the internet and play your favorite games using your Steam Deck.

One of the advantages of using Chiaki is that you can play your PS4 or PS5 games on your Steam Deck, even if they’re not natively supported. This means you can enjoy a wider range of games on your device and take your gaming experience to the next level.

To get started, you’ll need to install the Chiaki application on your Steam Deck. Once you’ve done that, you can use it to connect to your PS4 or PS5 console over the internet. The process is straightforward and only requires a stable internet connection.

Setup the port forwarding on your cable modem.

These port forwarding instructions are for the Xfinity app.

Log into your Xfinity app.
Click on the Connect icon at the bottom.
Select View WIFI equipment.
Select Advanced Settings.
Select Port Forwarding.
From the “Select the device for this port foward”, Select Sony Playstation 5 from the list. Note, your PS5 must be on for it to show up on the list.
Add the following, click Add Port Number after adding each one:
Port: 987, Protocol: TCP/UDP
Port: 9296, Protocol: TCP/UDP
Port: 9297, Protocol: TCP/UDP
Port: 9295, Protocol: TCP/UDP
Port: 9308, Protocol: TCP/UDP
Port: 9303, Protocol: TCP/UDP
Port: 9304, Protocol: TCP/UDP
Port: 9302, Protocol: TCP/UDP

Click on Add Port Range and add the following:

Port 9304 to 9305, Protocol: TCP/UDP

Click Apply. You’re done with the modem.

Setting up Chiaki to connect to your PS5.

Go to the Discover app on your Steam Deck and search for ‘Chiaki’ and Install it.
Finding your IP Address: https://www.whatsmyip.org/
Copy and paste your IP somewhere as you will need it later during the Chiaki setup.
Finding Your Encoded ID: https://psn.flipscreen.games/. Go to this site to get your Encoded ID. Don’t worry, it’s a safe site and only asks for your PSN name. Copy and paste the Encoded ID somewhere as you will need it later during the Chiaki setup.
Start Chiaki. Once Chiaki starts, click on the + icon in the upper right. The “Add Manual Console” box will pop up. Put your public IP in the Host field, click Save.
Register Console. Double click on the manual box with your IP, this will bring up the Register Console box.

The Host field should already have your IP.
Select PS5
In the PSN Account-ID (base64), paste in your Encoded ID.
Enter the PIN number that you get from your PS5. To get the PIN, goto your PS5 settings, then Remote Play.
Make sure Remote Play is enabled.
Click on the Link Device, this will give you the 8 digit PIN code.
PSN Online-ID can be left blank.

Once you’re done entering in the PSN Account-ID and PIN, click Register. Chiaki will find your PS5 and you should now be able to use it remotely.
