Trine 5 fix "Failure No Licenses" Error on Steam Deck

Trine 5 Failure no licenses

Hey there! If you’re encountering a “Failure No Licenses” error while trying to launch Trine 5 or other games, follow these steps to fix it:

  1. Go to this site: Goldberg Emulator and click on the Latest Build; this will download a file named Goldberg_Lan_Steam_Emu_master–475342f0.zip.
  2. Extract the zip file.
  3. Navigate to the directory where you just extracted the zip file and copy the “steam_api64.dll” file.
  4. Paste the “steam_api64.dll” into the directory of the game that’s displaying the error, in this case, Trine
  5. Click “Yes” to overwrite the existing file.

You’re all set! Now, start Trine 5 or any other game that was previously giving you the “Failure No Licenses” error, and it should launch successfully. Game on!

This game is beautiful!

I have the Steam Deck hooked up to my Jlink monitor running Trine 5 at a resolution of 3440×1440 and it runs flawless! Love it!
