Decky Loader for Steam Deck

Install Decky Loader

  • Go to Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck.
  • Open up a browser and go to the official Decky Loader git page:  https://github.com/SteamDeckHomebrew/decky-loader
  • Scroll down and click on the big “Download” button. This will download the “decky_installer.desktop” file.
  • Move the “decky_installer.desktop” file to your Desktop
  • Double click on the “decky_installer.desktop” file.
  • Decky Installer will load, click continue
  • You’ll be prompted to select “release” or “prerelease”. Select “release”. It will download everything. Decky Installer is now isntalled.

Install SteamGridDB

  • Go back to Game Mode on your Steam Deck
  • Once you’re back in Game Mode, click on the three dots on the right side of the Steam Deck. This will scroll a menu out from the right.
  • Click on the Decky Loader icon that looks like a plug
  • Once you see “Decky”, click on the store icon to the right of Decky
  • All the plugins are free, scroll down until you see “SteamGridDB”, click install.

Using SteamGridDB

  • To add or change the artwork on any game or app. Go to the game you’d like to make the changes to, right click and choose “Change artwork…”
  • Scroll through and choose a new artwork for all the different sections: Capsule, Wide Capsule, Hero, Logo, Icon
